Electric Callboy Bring the Party to Montréal After Playoff Delay
The highly anticipated show featuring Electric Callboy, Polaris and Scene Queen in Montréal was pushed back from May 14th to May 15th due to the playoff advancement of the Montreal Victoire, but the extra wait only added to the excitement surrounding the night.
The lineup delivered a mix of chaos, energy, heavy breakdowns and nonstop entertainment that kept the crowd moving from start to finish.
Scene Queen Opens the Night with “Bimbocore” Energy
Scene Queen kicked off the evening with one of the most entertaining sets of the night. The American singer/songwriter blends heavy metal influences with screams, growls and crushing breakdowns while embracing a style she proudly calls “bimbocore.” Her music mixes feminist themes with provocative and playful energy, creating a performance style that stood out immediately.
She constantly interacted with the crowd and made it clear how excited she was to be in Montréal. One of the standout moments from her set came when she mentioned how happy she was that the concert had been moved because of women’s hockey, saying it was always great when women win. The crowd responded loudly to the comment, and it added another fun and memorable moment to an already energetic performance.
Her stage presence never slowed down as she bounced around the stage and kept the audience engaged throughout the set. As an opener, she set the tone perfectly for the night ahead. Earlier this month, on May 8th, she also released her newest single, “Tracksuit.”
Polaris Bring the Heavy Side of the Evening
Polaris shifted the atmosphere into something much heavier as the Australian metalcore band delivered massive screams, emotional clean vocals and incredible instrumental work. Their performance immediately sparked crowd surfers and mosh pits as fans fed off the band’s intensity.
The balance between aggressive vocals and melodic sections gave the set a huge sound live, while the instrumentals remained incredibly tight throughout the performance. Polaris constantly pushed the energy higher and clearly gave everything they had on stage.
The band recently released the song “Sonic Salvation” in April, featuring Jamie Hails of August Burns Red, adding another strong release to their growing catalogue.
Electric Callboy Turn Montréal Into a Massive Party
By the time Electric Callboy hit the stage, the venue exploded into a full-scale party. The German electronic-metalcore group blended electronic dance music with metalcore breakdowns in a way that kept everyone moving all night long.
The production of the set was massive, featuring confetti cannons, heavy CO2 blasts and bright flashing lights that amplified the atmosphere even more. The band also features former Sum 41 drummer Frank Zummo, whose energy behind the kit added even more excitement to the performance.
One of the highlights of the night came when the band performed a cover of Sum 41’s “Still Waiting,” which immediately fired up the crowd. Their songs centered around dancing, partying and keeping the energy alive, while still maintaining the heaviness that metalcore fans love. It created a unique atmosphere where both casual fans and hardcore moshers could enjoy the experience together.
The night closed with their massive hit “We Got The Moves,” sending the crowd into one final frenzy before the band exited the stage. They also continue building anticipation for their upcoming album “TANZNEID,” which is set for release on August 7th.
Closing
Despite the one-day delay caused by the success of Montréal’s PWHL team, the concert ended up becoming an unforgettable night filled with heavy music, dancing, mosh pits and nonstop excitement. From Scene Queen’s entertaining opener, to Polaris bringing pure metalcore intensity, to Electric Callboy transforming the venue into a giant celebration, every band brought something unique to the show and kept the crowd engaged from beginning to end.
