The Burt Block Party is back for a second year celebrating some great Canadian rock music. The block party started last year mid-pandemic by True North Sports & Entertainment in an attempt to bring live music back to Winnipeg. The block party takes over the streets and parking lots in front of the Burton Cummings Theatre in Downtown Winnipeg with a huge stage, beer garden, and four evening of great music. This years show kicked with Peach Pit, Yukon Blonde, Jaywood, and Living hour on the first night. The younger crowd was thrilled to check out a festival without having to leave town. The second night brought some of the best 90’s Canadian rock The Watchmen, I Mother Earth, Bif Naked, and Hello Fiasco. The second weekend kicked off with classic rockers Nazareth, Streetheart, Headpins, and The Pumps/Orphan, and the block party got heavy on the final night with Rise Against, Pup, Cancer Bats, and Death Casette.
