Beach Weather started the night with a playful and melodic tune, setting the mood. Their lighthearted energy and catchy tracks served as the perfect opening, easing the crowd into what would be an unforgettable evening of emotional release and nostalgia.
Sleeping with Sirens Set the Crowd on Fire
When Sleeping with Sirens took the stage, the energy went wild. They opened with their powerful anthem “Kick Me,” delivering a tight and energetic set that mixed their classic hits with new songs. They ended with the fan favorite “If You Can’t Hang,” leaving the crowd ready for what was next.
Pierce the Veil Bring Generations Together in a Sea of Emotion
Pierce the Veil, a band whose sound has only gotten better with time, just like their growing, ever-loyal fanbase. Their performance was a perfect mix of new and old songs, and each one had the crowd going wild. They’re truly one of a kind, with a unique and special sound that’s always stayed true to their roots.
A memorable moment of the night was when they played “Yeah Boy and Doll Face.” It was incredible to see a sea of fans, from old emos who’ve been there since the beginning to a new generation discovering the magic, all singing every lyric from a song from their album A Flair for the Dramatic, which started it all back in 2007. The joy, the tears, the pure connection between strangers in the crowd, it reminded me of how music can transcend time. My heart was full.
Scene Style and Fan Dedication Steal the Spotlight
What really stood out, just as much as the music, were the fans themselves. So many showed up dressed to the nines in the most creative and nostalgic Pierce the Veil outfits – fishnets, chunky boots, band tees from the early days, glitter, chains, lace—like a living, breathing tribute to the scene’s golden days.
This night really hit me hard, personally. I couldn’t help but get emotional behind my camera, thinking back to Warped Tour 2008, the first festival I ever shot. It was a small, scrappy crowd in Montreal, Canada, where Pierce the Veil played. Seventeen years later, here I am, taking pictures of the same band, now headlining a sold-out arena in Seattle. It felt like life had come full circle.
This night reminded me why I fell in love with music photography in the first place. Music empowers community.
