Supersonic In Vancouver
Supersonic In Vancouver may not have been the real thing, but they definitely, maybe were the next best thing. With Oasis’ first tour in 16 years only days away, it meant it was time for the tributes to follow. Originally formed in Toronto in 2009, the tribute band has been hailed as the best Oasis experience in North America. We were lucky enough to experience the group’s Vancouver show at the Commodore Ballroom. After seeing the show in a packed house, I can say that if you were one of the nearly one hundred thousand people unlucky enough to get a ticket for the real deal, this is the next best thing.
For so many who grew up with these ’90s brash rockers, the night was a nostalgia-fueled performance as Dylan Shepard (as Liam) and Steve Nyarady (as Noel) brought the attitude and movements that mimicked them to a tee. From the opening moments of Supersonic In Vancouver, it was a full-blown sing-along as the set included the likes of classics like “Wonderwall,” “Live Forever,” “Champagne Supernova,” and many more.
One highlight, while looking at the highly energetic crowd, was witnessing the wide age range, showing how Oasis truly breaks generational barriers. Although the band saddened many Vancouverites by skipping the city on the tour, Supersonic In Vancouver was a memorable experience that’s sure to hold many over.
I’d like to thank Supersonic In Vancouver and their wonderful team for allowing us to experience the show. To find more on the tribute band, please visit:https://tributetooasis.com/
