On August 29th, 2025 fans of all ages gathered to see Blink-182 set the stage on fire the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater for night 2 of their Missionary Impossible Tour, with support from Alkaline Trio, and Beauty School Dropout!
Fresh off “The Summer School” Tour, Beauty School Dropout was welcomed back into the Tampa Bay area with open arms! They played an 8 song setlist, and had the crowd engaged from the moment they stepped on stage. Lead, Cole Hutzler bouncing around from side to side of the stage, keeping fans engaged throughout their set. My favorite interaction being during the 3rd song where the band had the whole amphitheater of 20,000 people waving their hands from left t right, ramping up the crowd for the night ahead.
Strobes, Smashing Drums, and Strong Voices, that is Alkaline Trio. The 3 piece Chicago bred punk band immediately bringing the fans into their world. With their signature heart logo aglow behind the drum kit, the crowd was treated to a twelve song setlist. Fans were also treated to Alkaline Trio’s brand new single, “Oblivion”, produced by Blink-182’s Travis Barker. Alkaline’s stage presence was captivating from the moment they took the stage and are definitely a band you don’t want to miss!
WAYAISS…
If you’re a Blink-182 fan, you know where I am going with this. The night started off with the heavyweights of the pop-punk scene being introduced by the one and only Bruce Buffer. Fans screamed as one by one the band was announced, their images flashing across the screens while a curtain covered the stage. With the ringing of the bell, it was game, set, and match. The curtain dropping to the intro of The Rock Show played over the speakers. Fans immediately were out of their seats and dancing along to the band, and hands in the air!
One thing you have to understand about a Blink show is that not only will you get the storytelling from their music, but the band will always fill you in on their thoughts throughout the night, and even share some tour shenanigans. While there was the occasional stage walk between singing breaks, their presence was static but by no means boring. Both Tom Delonge, and Hark Hoppus playing to different fans in the front row and pointing them out while signing. Up on a riser, Travis Barker had me captivated the whole night. You never realize how drum heavy Blink-182 songs are, until you see that they are performed on a 4 piece drum kit. This is my official plea to put him infront of a 8 piece kit and see what magic he can do!
Blink’s 22 song setlist offered a variety for new and old fans. Touching every album in their discography. The iconic band closed their set with the hits that solidified themselves of legends in the music scene, “What’s My Age Again,” “All The Small Things” and “Dammit.” Overall, Blink-182 is a band that I feel everyone should see at least once. It was amazing to experience and with 20,000 people in attendance and collectively singing the songs of our childhood, pure nostalgia.
But plain and simple, I Miss You, Blink-182, come back to Tampa soon!
