Jessie Murph in Vancouver turned into an unforgettable celebration as the 21-year-old Alabama singer-songwriter marked her birthday with a SOLD OUT show. Riding high on the success of her second full-length album, Sex Hysteria, released earlier in 2025, Murph brought her Worldwide Hysteria Tour to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. The album has earned global acclaim from both fans and critics, and the excitement surrounding this tour stop was electric. For many lucky Vancouver fans, there was no better place to experience the rising star’s powerful performance than inside one of the city’s most iconic venues.
Fans came ready for the occasion, dressed in corsets, short skirts, and cowboy boots, the unmistakable uniform of a Jessie Murph show. Even without seeing the artist on stage, the crowd’s style alone made it clear who they were there to see. The energy outside the Queen Elizabeth Theatre was just as telling. A line stretched for blocks around the venue, buzzing with excitement. As I made my way to the box office, I caught snippets of conversations, fans sharing their dream setlists, swapping stories about Jessie’s viral TikToks, and planning ways to make her birthday show unforgettable. Stepping inside, I was immediately taken aback. The Queen Elizabeth Theatre is usually a fully seated venue, but tonight it had been transformed. The first few rows of seats were removed and replaced with a pit, giving fans the chance to experience the night up close and personal. It was a bold move that only added to the night’s electricity. As the chatter filled the venue, anticipation reached a fever pitch. Without warning, the lights dropped, the room erupted into screams, and Stella Lefty stormed the stage to ignite the night.
Before the night began, I had never heard of the singer-songwriter, but by the end of her set, I left as a fan. With her Tragic, Really EP released earlier this year, Stella Lefty gave Vancouver a powerful introduction to her music. Tracks like “Cynic,” “Grace,” and “Decay” resonated deeply with the crowd, who eagerly sang along. With over 500k Instagram followers, it was clear she has already built a devoted fan base. Witnessing her live made it easy to understand why. Her set was stripped down yet impactful, featuring just her voice and a guitarist at her side. The simplicity allowed her lyrics to take center stage, creating an intimate atmosphere inside the theatre. It was a tonal contrast to the high-energy performance that was about to follow, but a necessary one that gave the night a strong foundation. As her final notes faded, the crowd erupted with cheers and heartfelt shouts of “We love you, Stella!” The room was electric. With the opener complete and excitement building, anticipation hit its peak. It was finally time for Jessie Murph In Vancouver to take stage.
The eruption was deafening as fans screamed at the top of their lungs, pouring every ounce of energy into letting Jessie Murph in Vancouver know just how much they loved her. What followed over the next 90 minutes was a performance that audience members will be talking about for years to come. The show opened with a dramatic dance sequence. Jessie’s dancers, dressed as gangsters in white tees and beige fedoras, moved across the stage in a scene that felt straight out of The Untouchables or The Godfather. Some were carried over shoulders as if being abducted, setting a cinematic tone that immediately drew the crowd in. As the lights slowly brightened, a silhouette appeared at the back of the stage. The outline of teased, voluminous hair gave fans all the clues they needed, and the room erupted once again. This time, the screams felt like a collective release, a wave of anxious anticipation finally breaking. Jessie Murph emerged, standing high on a raised platform at center stage. As she launched into “Gucci Mane,” the opening track of the night, it was clear there was no better way to mark her first-ever steps on a Vancouver stage.
With Sex Hysteria still only a few months old, Vancouver fans matched every vocal moment with full-throttle energy. The night’s setlist blended 14 tracks from the new album with fan favorites from other records. It delivered a massive 23-song performance. The show had everything fans could hope for. Hits like “1965,” “Touch Me Like A Gangster,” and “Heroin” sent the crowd into a frenzy. While stage dancers brought an added layer of drama and excitement. The energy shifted seamlessly between high-octane moments and deeply personal ones, including an intimate highlight where Jessie pulled a fan on stage to join her for an acoustic performance.
Closing the night on an unforgettable high, “Blue Strips” brought the show to a powerful finale. The opening lyrics sparked an immediate reaction, with fans screaming them back at Jessie in unison. Lights filled the air, phones rose high to capture every second, and the crowd’s singing grew so loud it nearly overpowered Jessie herself. It was a magical moment that perfectly encapsulated the energy of the night. As the final notes faded, Jessie took a moment to thank the city for celebrating her birthday. She stood soaking in the love and appreciation pouring from the audience. To put it simply, this was one of the strongest debut performances I’ve ever witnessed in Vancouver. Both fans and I left eager to see what Jessie does next. Hopefully Jessie Murph In Vancouver returns sooner rather than later.
