"Heard Through the Grapevine," Role Model in Leeds was one for the books

Having seen him before and knowing the kind of joy his shows bring, I walked in expecting a good night. He opened with the fan favourite Writings on the Wall. The venue was completely packed and it was great to see him pull such a huge crowd again.

Role Model does it again

The first thing that hit me was his vocals. He has always been a strong singer but he sounded better than ever, especially during Slut Era Interlude Bridge.

Attending a Role Model show feels like a mix of concert and stand-up. He had the entire room laughing with his natural wit and stage presence, even between some of the heavier songs.

Role Model is not new to the industry, but his growth over the past year has been huge. I am excited to see what he releases next and honestly would not be surprised to see a Grammy nomination in his future.

I saw Role Model last week in Leeds almost exactly a year to the day after his show in Manchester, and in his own words, “Ah, Sh*t, here we go again.”

Having seen him before and knowing the kind of joy his shows bring, I walked in expecting a good night. He opened with the fan favourite Writings on the Wall. The venue was completely packed, and it was great to see him pull such a huge crowd again. The first thing that hit me was his vocals. He has always been a strong singer but he sounded better than ever, especially during Slut Era Interlude Bridge.

Going to a Role Model show feels half concert and half stand up. He had the entire room laughing with his natural wit and stage presence, even between some of the heavier songs. He has perfected the art of naturally bantering with his fans; I have never been to a show where an artist has so many inside jokes with their fans.

The moment everyone was waiting for was of course the viral track “Sally, when the wine runs out.” It has become a signature part of his shows and fans come ready to see who will be the Sally of the night. This time it was a boy from the crowd who matched his energy perfectly.

Final Thoughts
