The marquee outside History glowed blue, ‘Black Veil Brides- Sold out.’ it read As American rock group Black Veil Brides made their Toronto stop on their Vindicatour. Their first Toronto show since they were here last year with Baby Metal. They were supported by openers As December Falls, TX2, and From Ashes to New. The venue was teeming with fans bedecked in black streaks of face paint, black lipstick, band tee’s and spiked accessories. 

Black Veil Brides bring humor and hardcore vocals

When the lights rose and the band made its way to the stage, cheers erupted. As everyone settled into their places, adjusting their guitar straps and twisting their drum sticks, their lead singer Andy Biersack emerged. Smiling and waving to the crowd with his gloved hand. As the crowd settled, he talked about how good it was to be back in Canada before jumping into their first song. It wasn’t long before bodies and arms rose above the crowd, as people crowd surfed to the front, wide smiles on their faces. 

As the show progressed, they played a mix of tracks from their new album, Vindicate such as Revengers, Bleeders, and Vindicate. They were sure to mix in a number of throw back songs like Rebel love song, wretched and divine, and fan favorite, Knives and pens. As Andy made his way across the stage, stepping onto the risers, he sang down to the fans headbaning in the front row. 

'In the end'

The night ended with a paired back encore featuring song, ‘Lost it all’ and ‘In the end’; two songs that got fans waving their phone lights and holding each other close. Fans streamed towards the exit, with smudged makeup and wide smiles signifying a monday night very well spent.
