We Are Story Tellers
The Arkells bring their Big Feelings Tour to the Canadian tire Centre for a night of unforgettable memories and of course big feelings.
Opening the night up was Poolside from Los Angeles California. Poolside an American nu-disco chillwave band that brings chill vibes and grooves to their shows. While on stage Poolside delivers a a unique blend of dreamy disco and laid back beats that has the audience swaying and dancing along. The atmosphere was nothing short of magical, the crowd engaged and you just can’t help yourself to get lost in the music. Poolside has that perfect mix of upbeat and feel good tunes with a little extra kick with a saxophone. By the end of the set the crowd left smiles and ready to get the after party going when Arkells hit the stage.
The arena lights go out and all you see is flashlights light up the stage. One by one, every band member shines a light towards the crowd. As they walk down the stairs on and get closer to the audience, the arena just erupts as they put the lights down and open with Come to light. The Arkells are all about delivering a show that the crowd is left in awe, amazement and long lasting memories. They are such an infectious band that you just can’t help but to tap your feet, give a little dance and get swept away in the engagement with the crowd.
Beyond the music the Arkells connection with the audience is something so pure and heart warming. They truly care about having the crowd be part of the show. They even invited the School of Rock Churchill Alternative school on stage to sing Knocking on heavens Door. Arkells is more than just a band, they mean something more to their fans with how they connect and make their shows so personal and have you leaving like it was a party with friends. By the time the show ended it was clear that they had left their mark on Ottawa, and the crowd filled with joy that only an Arkells show can leave.
