Benee In Vancouver

Some artists feel like they belong to the world the moment they step on stage, and that was exactly the vibe with the return of Benee In Vancouver. The Particles World Tour marked her first performance in the city since 2024. When she popped up as the opener for Wallows at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre. That night was more of a teaser. This time, the show was all hers, and just ten minutes away at the cozy and legendary Hollywood Theatre. Back then the set leaned on a handful of hits and her debut album. This time however, she rolled into town with something fresh. Her new record, Ur an Angel, I’m Just Particles. Which only dropped a few months ago, but judging by the crowd, fans had already memorized every lyric. People were singing along like they’d lived with these songs for years. Benee was not alone for the night either. Kicking things off was Brooklyn pop riser Bayli, and by the time she left the stage it was obvious she had made some brand new fans.

Bayli Came With Something To Prove

Before the show started, people around the venue were chatting about what they hoped to hear from Benee. One thing that kept coming up though was that a lot of the crowd had never heard of Bayli before. That changed quickly. The moment the New York artist stepped on stage, the room shifted. Like a wave rolling toward the front, people started moving closer to the stage, heads bobbing and shoulders loosening up. Within minutes she had the entire Hollywood Theatre locked in. If you were one of the many people obsessed with Charli XCX and the chaotic energy of her 2024 smash Brat. Bayli felt like she was cut from that same glittery, high voltage cloth. Her vocals floated over pulsing, almost trance-like production, turning the theatre into something that felt halfway between a concert and a rave. Like Benee, Bayli also had a new project to celebrate. Her debut album No Re-Entry dropped last year. After hearing a few tracks live, it was the kind of record you immediately queue up on the ride home. Songs from the set were still bouncing around in my head the next day. Anyone who walked into the venue unsure about Bayli definitely left as a fan. Her high energy performance made it pretty clear why she was the perfect choice to kick off Benee In Vancouver.

Benee Was The Moment

After an opener like that you almost wonder how the headliner is supposed to follow it. Turns out Benee had that part handled. Drummer Phoenix and guitarist Michael stepped out first, building a hazy groove that slowly wrapped around the room. Then a silhouette appeared and the opening notes of Sad Boiii kicked in. Just like that, Benee In Vancouver was underway. The set stretched across 20 songs, and honestly there was not a single lull in the night. With the tour centered around Ur an Angel, fans got a generous helping of the new record. Eleven tracks from the album made the cut.

Prey4U had the crowd singing every word like it had been a classic for years. Cinnamon had the whole room swaying side to side. Off The Rails had fans well… just that. Of course a Benee show would not be complete without the song that launched her into the global spotlight. When Supalonely started, the entire theatre exploded. It was one of those moments where the audience gets so loud you can barely hear the artist. There were also a few nods to collaborations along the way, including her performance of the track she shares with Joji from his album Nectar. The crowd happily handled Joji’s parts. Then came the finale. What started out as a fan favorite that people begged her to officially release, Green Honda closed the night and left the room buzzing.

The Fans Made It Even Better

One of the coolest things about Benee In Vancouver was how intimate it felt. The Hollywood Theatre had no barrier between the stage and the crowd, which meant Benee was right there with everyone. No giant gap. No distance. That closeness led to some genuinely funny moments. At one point Benee spotted a sign in the crowd that read “Come dig this hole.” It caught her attention so much she brought the fan on stage to dance and help with a song. The crowd loved every second of it. She also told the audience about a new hobby she picked up on tour. Apparently Benee has been making little handmade trinkets that she hands out to fans at each show. It was a small touch but it added to the feeling that this was less of a massive production and more like a night hanging out with a very talented friend. And if she was not already a musician, she probably could have been a comedian. Between songs she kept cracking jokes about being in Vancouver. At one point she even had the entire room sing the Canadian national anthem while she danced around the stage in meme poses. The place completely lost it.

By the end of the night the energy somehow kept climbing. The closing stretch was an absolute knockout. Supalonely rolled straight into Off The Rails, which then exploded into Green Honda. Three songs, back to back, with the crowd giving everything they had left. When the lights finally came up, people spilled out onto the Vancouver streets grinning and buzzing about what they had just seen. It had been four years since Benee last headlined the city, and if the reaction from the crowd meant anything, nobody wants to wait that long again. Every time she comes through town she leaves behind another unforgettable night, and Vancouver will happily welcome her back whenever she’s ready.
