Metalcore fans in Montreal were treated to a powerhouse night of music at Beanfield Theatre, as blessthefall returned with a vengeance alongside a killer lineup of Miss May I, Dark Divine, and Colourblind. From high-energy openers to nostalgic headliners, the night was an unforgettable showcase of post-hardcore and metalcore mastery.
Hailing from Austin, Texas, Colourblind opened the night with serious energy. Playing Montreal for the very first time, the band made an instant impression with their dynamic stage presence and impressive vocals. Their frontman’s soaring voice drew comparisons to Kellin Quinn of Sleeping with Sirens, especially during their standout track, “Car Crash.”The crowd’s early turnout wasn’t wasted—Colourblind fed off the enthusiasm, setting a strong tone for the evening.
Next up was Dark Divine from Orlando, Florida—a band that knows how to make a visual and sonic statement. With corpse paint, a light-up guitar, and a glowing banner featuring a creepy doll, their aesthetic was hauntingly unique. Musically, they brought a heavier edge that perfectly complemented the night’s lineup. Their intense sound and visual spectacle made them a fitting and memorable part of the show.
Ohio’s metalcore veterans Miss May I followed, delivering a crushing set filled with fan favorites. Having last played Montreal just a few months ago at Foufounes Électriques, the band was clearly in familiar territory. Vocalist Levi Benton brought relentless energy, igniting crowd surfers and nostalgic chants as the band dove into their older material. Seeing vintage Miss May I merch in the crowd only amped up the vibe—it was a true throwback for longtime fans.
When blessthefall finally took the stage, the crowd was already electric—and the Arizona metalcore legends did not disappoint. Opening with their freshly released track “Mallxcore”, the band came out swinging. In a surprising move, bassist Jared Warth jumped into the crowd while Beau Bokan took over bass duties to kick off the next song. The chemistry between band members was undeniable, and Beau’s heartfelt connection with the audience made for a deeply engaging experience. Crowd surfers flooded the photo pit, and every breakdown landed like a punch. It was a headline set that reminded everyone why blessthefall remains a cornerstone of the genre.
The blessthefall Montreal 2025 show at Beanfield Theatre was everything a metalcore fan could hope for—new music, old favorites, raw energy, and passionate performances from every band on the bill. Whether you came for nostalgia or to discover new favorites, this was one of the standout heavy shows of the year in Montreal.
