We Are Story Tellers
There’s something special about a sold-out show packed with fans who have loved a band for decades. Last Friday, I had the chance to witness Chiodos in Seattle, alongside Hawthorne Heights, Emmure, and The Callous Daoboys. The energy was electric, and from the very first note, it was clear that this was going to be an unforgettable night. With every scream-along chorus and crushing breakdown, the show felt like a time machine back to the golden era of post-hardcore.
Opening the night, The Callous Daoboys instantly grabbed the crowd’s attention with soaring clean vocals, violin melodies, and raw energy. They proved to be the perfect addition to this stacked lineup. Then came Emmure, the heaviest band of the night. Their fast riffs and breakdowns had the Seattle crowd screaming along and moshing like it was 2008 all over again. Secondly, Emmure took the stage. Definitely being the heaviest band on this tour. They displayed fast riffs and explosive energy to the Seattle crowd. The fans were definitely screaming along and enjoying the set.
When Hawthorne Heights hit the stage, the nostalgia hit hard. They mixed old favorites with newer tracks, giving everyone something to love. But the real magic happened when they closed with Niki FM and Ohio Is for Lovers. The entire venue erupted into a massive sing-along, voices shaking the walls as fans poured their hearts into every lyric.
Then, it was time for the main event. Chiodos in Seattle was everything fans hoped for and more. Craig Owens owned the stage, delivering his signature vocals with intensity and emotion. The band played All’s Well That Ends Well in full, and it was pure perfection. For elder emos in the crowd, it felt like a reunion with an old friend—the music that shaped them was alive and louder than ever.
If you get the chance to catch Chiodos in Seattle or anywhere else on this tour, don’t hesitate. It’s a night of music, memories, and screaming your heart out with hundreds of others who feel the same way.
