With his high-octane delivery, magnetic stage presence, and genuine connection to the audience, J Morris delivered a performance that was not only entertaining in the moment but also left a lingering buzz long after the music ended.

Cam Kahin

Next up to the stage was Toronto’s very own Cam Kahin, bringing an electrifying wave of alt-punk and garage rock that immediately set the tone for an intense, high-octane set. From the moment the band launched into their first song, they commanded the space, urging the crowd to move closer to the barrier and fully immerse themselves in the energy. Kahin’s vocals stood out as a dynamic centerpiece, blending gritty melodies with bursts of screamo that revealed both impressive vocal fry and raw power, pushing the emotional edge of each track to its limits.

The chemistry among band members was undeniable, with playful exchanges, synchronized movements, and spontaneous interactions that amplified the performance’s authenticity. Each member wore their passion on their face as they poured themselves into their instruments giving the audience not just music, but a visceral, lived experience. The result was a set that felt both chaotic and precise, brimming with emotion and intensity.

Blakdenim

Ottawa’s beloved genre-blending collective Blakdenim took the stage next, and from the very first notes, it was clear the crowd was in for something special. Seamlessly fusing hip-hop, funk, rock, and soul, the group unleashed a sound that was as diverse as it was powerful.

USS

Toronto’s own USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker) stormed the stage with a level of energy that immediately commanded the full attention of the crowd. The alternative rock duo wasted no time in proving why their live shows have become the stuff of legend. Within moments, they had the audience fully engaged, cheering, dancing, and singing along to every word. Their dynamic presence was infectious, as they darted across the stage, trading the spotlight with seamless chemistry and delivering standout solo moments that kept the energy at a fever pitch.

One of the most jaw-dropping highlights came when Jason “Human Kebab” Parsons pulled off a handstand while working the turntable, an outrageous feat that embodied the playful, high-octane spirit USS is known for. Every beat and every antic fueled the crowd further, creating a cycle of pure adrenaline between band and audience. By the time the set wrapped, it felt less like a performance and more like a shared celebration, an unforgettable moment in the festival that solidified USS as one of the weekend’s biggest hits.

Tobi

Following up was none other than Tobi, the four-time JUNO Award–winning Nigerian-Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter, whose presence immediately elevated the festival atmosphere. Renowned for his smooth flow and soulful delivery, Tobi brought a set that blended introspective lyricism with vibrant, joy-infused beats that had the crowd moving from the very first track.

His performance struck a perfect balance between laid-back groove and infectious energy, drawing listeners into every verse and chorus. The loyalty of his fan base was on full display with voices ringing out singing along to familiar hooks, hands swayed in unison with the rhythm, and cheers erupted at the close of each song. Between tracks, Tobi’s warm charisma and genuine gratitude shone through, further deepening the connection with the audience. It was a set that not only showcased his artistry but also underscored why he’s become such a celebrated and respected figure in the Canadian music scene.

Down With Webster

Closing out the final night of City Folk 2025 was none other than Down With Webster, and they delivered a send-off that will be remembered for years to come. From the very first beat, the band radiated charisma and talent, commanding the stage with effortless confidence and igniting the audience into a frenzy of excitement. Perfectly timed lighting effects heightened the atmosphere, casting the crowd in vibrant color as hands shot into the air and voices joined together in unison. The energy was nothing short of electric where every song felt like an anthem, every transition a surge of momentum that kept the audience on their feet.

What truly stood out, though, was the undeniable sense of camaraderie: band members exchanged smiles and playful moments, while the crowd mirrored that connection, singing, dancing, and celebrating together as if part of one massive family. Equal parts electrifying performance, soaring vocals, and heartwarming interaction, the set felt less like a concert and more like a giant festival-wide dance party. As the final notes rang out it was clear that Down With Webster had provided the perfect closing chapter to the festival, leaving fans buzzing with joy and gratitude long after the music stopped.

In Closing

City Folk 2025 ended on a note of pure celebration, capturing the essence of what makes live music so powerful: connection, diversity, and unrestrained joy. From start to finish, the final day brought together artists who each offered something unique yet equally unforgettable, uniting thousands of voices in song and dance. As the lights faded and the last echoes lingered in the night, one thing was certain: this year’s festival wasn’t just a series of performances, but a shared experience that will live on in the hearts of all who were there.
