Canadian hip-hop artist Classified had a stopover in Ottawa on his “Beautiful Escape Tour” and brought the amazingly talented Elijah Will along with him.
The Nova Scotia native and owner of the independent label called Halflife Records set out across Canada after the release of his 15th album Greatful – Nominated for album of the year and winner of Rap/hip-hop recording of the year – East Coast Music Awards and debuted at #6 on the Canadian Album Charts.
The title song for the tour “Beautiful Escape” featured the talented Elijah Will and had a powerful story about growing up and overcoming personal hardships and demons.
The Bourbon room hosted the show brought to us by The Diamond Mine Agency and some of Ottawa’s made sure to come set the stage for a good night. JR, Made Wade and Prehistoric played for the growing crowd and got the night off to a great start. JR a real young up and comer started out the night and being relatively unknown he made sure to leave his mark on the crowd. Made Wade kept things going with his smooth flow and you can’t forget about that Poutine track. Prehistoric is a seasoned vet in the local scene and made sure that he brought just that to the stage and the crowd loved it.
Elijah Will took the stage next and let me tell you if you haven’t heard him before you are missing out. A smooth hip-hop/R&B sound made sure to keep the crowd hooked as he sang some of his more well-known tracks like “All the Time in the World”
Classified jumped on stage next and the crowd erupted. Playing some of his most well-known tracks as well as tracks from his newest album “Greatful” which he described as his magnum opus and something he has been working towards his whole career.
Elijah joined him on stage as the band started played and they did their track Beautiful Escape which has been going crazy on the music video charts being played everywhere.
Classified is such a down to earth guy and was great to meet and hear live and I will certainly be at every show when he comes to town.
