CPMF 2024 - Day 4

CPMF 2024 – Day 4: Authentic Energy Only!

Mighty Quinton Concerts brings Churchill Park Music Festival back to St. John’s, Newfoundland with a killer line up spanning over five days between Aug 9/10/16/17/18.

Carolina East

Carolina East opens the night with a mix of country and pop that sets a warm tone with her powerful vocals. Dan George of Nick Earle and The Reckless Hearts returns to stage for the third time of the festival, holding down the rhythm section on drums, alongside Jacob Earle on the bass. She brings a genuine connection to her performance.

Her set is both engaging, as she takes the time to connect with the crowd and talk with them between songs, making her a great start to the night.

Dillon James

Dillion James proves that anything is possible, going from homelessness to playing one of the biggest festivals in Newfoundland. He brings a mix of country and soul to the stage, with smooth vocals and heartfelt lyrics. His performance has a laid-back feeling, yet his songs captivate the audience. James’ has a genuine quality that shines through, making his set feel personal and intimate.

He sets the stage for the nights headliners, leaving an impression on the audience that they won’t soon forget.

TALK

TALK bursts onto the stage sporting some Newfoundland overalls that sets the tone for their performance! They have a unique blend of pop, rock, and electronic music and the bands aesthetic is just *chefs kiss*. TALK’s performance is vibrant and full of life, with songs that the crowd responds to enthusiastically, dancing and singing along to every track. I hope he had an extra pair of crocs in the trailer, because he ended up kicking the pair they had on into the crowd!

TALK’s set is a standout of the night, bringing a modern and new twist to the festival.

Shania Twain

Shania said Giddy Up and on it was to her second night, and once again, she delivers an unforgettable performance. Her presence is magnetic, and the crowd is fully engaged from start to finish. Twain’s set is a perfect blend of her classic hits and new material, and she performs each song with such passion and energy. Her connection with the audience is palpable, making her performance a truly memorable experience. She connects with the audience on a personal level making everyone feel like they’re part of something special. Tonight the drums during “Don’t Impress Me Much” stood out so strong and I will never in my life forget this.

Tonight she brought up an old friend she met 15+ years ago while travelling who happened to be from Newfoundland that was at the show.
