Flipturn In Vancouver

Flipturn In Vancouver was night of celebration as the indie rockers Sold-out the infamous Commodore Ballroom. The Burnout Days Tour was in celebration of their latest album which released this year, Burnout Days. Dillon, Mitch, Madeline, Devon, and Tristan gave the audience their all with a 20-track set. The audience’s high-voltage had them dancing and singing uncontrollably. But with tracks as catchy as Juno, Rodeo Clown, and Chicago. It’s easy to understand why. Kicking things off for the electric night was Souther Californian Surf Rockers Sun room.

Sun room Puts Jaws To The Floor

Sun room’s captivating and vibrant set energized the audiences energy to the stratosphere rather immediately. Like Flipturn, the group were hot off their latest project, an EP, Ritual of Chaos. Using the opportunity to highlight a few moments from the project, Sun room got the crowd drawing major applause and ready to relive the set’s soundtrack after the show. As the set came to an end, Vancour roared cheers in approval, hinting to the group they wanted their return to the city in the near future. Considering the wildly explosive set, hopefully the city won’t be waiting long. With that it was time for the moment so many have waited months for, Flipturn In Vancouver.

Flipturn Cements Themselves As Indie Rock Legends

Flipturn followed up with a dynamic set, that dialed things beyond 11. Burn/Weepy Woman started things off with vocalist Dylan Basse and co.’s illuminated silhouettes, and mixed with the rising track, it made for a striking bit of imagery. From the opening moments, the passion was clear and as the group charged through the set filled with hits like August, Hollow, and Churches. It’s clear Vancouver saw the vision and returned with intense playful energy, leading to memories made for both band and fans. Flipturn In Vancouver came to an end with the final track off 2018’s Citrona, Nickel. A playful summer vibe song that had so many in attendance dancing and singing along to. It was a defining moment that captured the essence that made Filpturn In Vancouver so special. As the final note rung and Vancity celebrated, it was clear by the smiles all around, this was a night that would stick for quite a while.
