We Are Story Tellers

Foster The People In Vancouver

Foster The People In Vancouver was on fire with an unforgettable night, marking their first tour stop in the city since 2014! To celebrate their new album Paradise State of Mind, they brought the heat to a sold-out Queen Elizabeth Theatre as part of their Paradise State of Mind Tour. The energy was electric from start to finish, with UK’s Good Neighbours warming up the crowd for an epic show.

The Good Neighbours

If there’s ever a sign your band’s hit it big, it’s when the opener packs the house—and that’s exactly what Oli Fox and Scott Verrill pulled off. From the moment doors opened, fans rushed the merch booth to snag vinyl and shirts, buzzing with excitement. This was my first taste of the duo’s magic, and the crowd—mostly younger but wildly energetic—was all in, dancing and singing along. Backed by a full band, they blasted through fan-favorites like “Home,” “Keep It Up,” and “Daisies,” with the crowd erupting for their new track, “Ripple.” The duo’s insane energy, from stage moves to crowd connection, left me seriously impressed.

Foster The People In Vancouver Sends The Crowd Into A Different State of Mind

As 9pm strikes, the packed venue settles into eager anticipation, unaware of the spectacle about to unfold. Conversations buzz about the setlist, memories of past shows at the same spot, and what’s to come—but then, the lights drop. Silence takes over for a heartbeat… and then, an eruption of sound and energy explodes through the room. The stage erupts in a flash of red as the band takes their positions, but it’s the deafening roar of the crowd that dominates the air. The LED walls pulse with energy as a figure strides toward the mic—Mark Foster. As he steps to the front, the crowd explodes in excitement, rising as one in a frenzy of cheers. Watching his magnetic presence set the venue ablaze was pure electric magic.

Setlist

With a grin, Foster soaks in the energy of the Vancouver crowd before diving into the groove, Isom Innis and the band kicking off with the high-octane “Feed Me.” The night ignited with a 20-song setlist that fired up classics from Torches like “Houdini,” “Helena Beat,” and “Call It What You Want.” The crowd got a taste of everything—bangers from Sacred Hearts Club, Supermodel, and, of course, the new hits from Paradise State of Mind. It was a non-stop thrill ride.

Highlights

Foster The People In Vancouver was nothing short of incredible! As a longtime fan, I couldn’t have asked for more. Every hit you hoped for was delivered with explosive energy. The stage lighting set the perfect vibe, while the band’s non-stop movement kept the crowd on fire—from Mark’s dance moves to him dashing across the stage to play piano, to Isom effortlessly switching between instruments. It was a masterclass in live performance.

In Conclusion

Foster The People In Vancouver wrapped up the night with their two biggest hits: “Sit Next to Me” and, of course, the iconic “Pumped Up Kicks.” That opening note hit, and the crowd erupted—everyone on their feet like they were about to salute the national anthem. After all, “Pumped Up Kicks” was the anthem of 2011, and its lasting power was on full display. As the show ended, the energy in the venue was electric, leaving the audience buzzing with excitement. It was a highlight of a night that will stick with fans for years to come—and one I can’t wait to relive again.
