From the moment guests arrived, the excitement was palpable. A line of eagerly waiting attendees wrapped around the gates, buzzing with anticipation. The air filled with the stirring sounds of a lone bagpiper, setting the tone and transporting everyone back through the centuries. When the gates finally opened, one could see a breathtaking tableau of colour and character. Patrons elaborately dressed as knights, nobles, fairies, and villagers roamed the grounds in vibrant, time-period-accurate costumes that brought the scene to life. 

The festival boasted a packed schedule of unforgettable entertainment. Spectators gathered in awe to witness heart-pounding jousting matches by the legendary Knights of Valour and live armed combat demonstrations. Roaming acts and stage shows added a theatrical flair throughout the grounds, with performances by hilarious Zoltan the Adequate, the ethereal River Mermaid Brie, the whimsical Cherry Bubble Fair, the playful artist Gabriel Q, and the gravity-defying aerialist Kai—all adding their unique magic to the weekend. 

Beyond the performances, a lively and eclectic medieval marketplace buzzed with energy. Dozens of vendors offered everything from handmade leather goods and chainmail to mead, mystical trinkets, and historically inspired garb. Each booth added to the atmosphere, creating a truly transportive shopping experience. The sensory delights didn’t stop there. The festival’s food offerings were a feast in every sense—aromas of popcorn and sweet treats filled the air. A crowd favourite? The colossal turkey leg, easily the size of a grown adult’s forearm, devoured with glee by guests young and old. Meanwhile, the haunting tones of a hurdy-gurdy drifted through the crowd, played by a fellow patron, enchanting passersby and adding yet another layer of medieval charm. 

Designed as a family-friendly affair, the two-day event catered to all ages. Children marveled at the costumes and interactive performances, while adults delighted in the attention to detail and authenticity woven throughout the experience. Whether attending in full regalia or simply as curious observers, everyone left with smiles, stories, and a sense of wonder.
