The lights went dark and that’s when fans knew that Jelly Roll was about to take the stage to close out the night. As the video popped up on the big screen showing Jelly walking out accompanied by his wife Bunnie, fans started cheering louder than I’ve ever heard. Jelly had a unique setup with his first song being on the backstage (soundboard area) with a full house that was on fire! Something i’ve never seen before but was grateful he allowed us to photograph before running up to the main stage for his other songs! He opened up his energy filled set with “I Am Not Okay” and also performed hit songs like “Save Me”, “Halfway To Hell”, “Son of a Sinner”, and more. Two years ago, at this very arena, I had the opportunity to photograph my first arena show and that was Shinedown who had Jelly opening for them! It was a surreal moment getting to photograph Jelly again at that same arena but with him not only headlining but selling out the arena. Having that full circle moment was a cool experience that I’ll never forget.

If you get the chance to see his amazing “Beautifully Broken” tour, do it! I promise you won’t regret it, as it’s a show that will have you leaving with no voice from singing along and with memories you’ll never forget! It feels like a family reunion and therapy session all in one.
