God Isn’t The Only One Who Likes Paradise

With the release of his latest project God Does Like Ugly, Atlanta rapper and singer JID hit the road for a North American tour. Stops included cities like Detroit, Houston, and Miami, but on November 10th, JID In Vancouver got its turn. When an artist earns praise from heavyweights like Andre 3000, J. Cole, and Eminem, it’s clear they have something special. And that speciality transferred in the form of energy straight into his PNE Forum performance. The crowd was a spectacle of its own. For anyone in Vancouver’s rap community, there was no better place to be. Long lines wrapped around the venue, and the pit was packed tight with die-hard fans. Up front, younger concertgoers clutched vinyl and merch, hoping for a signature, while signs in the middle of the crowd congratulated JID on his recent Grammy nominations for Best Rap Album and Melodic Rap Performance. It’s a remarkable moment considering that just a decade ago, JID was an unofficial member of the rap duo EARTHGANG. As 9 p.m. approached, you could feel the tension build as blood pumped and voices rose, then with a sudden break in the lights, complete silence.

A Performance To Remember

Like the album itself, JID In Vancouver kicked off with an explosive start as “YouUgly” sent fans into chaos. With every lyric, JID amped up the city’s crowd, the energy bouncing right back at him. Creating a wild synergy that made the night unforgettable from the first beat. That intensity never dipped. JID kept the momentum cranked to 11 for a full 22-track set. Classics like “Raydar,” “151 Rum,” and “NEVER” tore through the venue, each track met with thunderous response. Since the night celebrated God Does Like Ugly, half the setlist paid homage to the new record. Tracks like “Community,” “Sk8,” “VCRs,” and “Glory” reminded everyone why the album hit so hard. Adding to the magic were a few standout covers and features, including Offset’s “Bodies” and Dreamville anthems “Down Bad” and “Stick”. Each one hit with precision, sealing the night as a pure showcase of JID’s energy, artistry, and unmatched control of the stage.

In Closing

With past JID In Vancouver performances, he’s proven himself to be a true GOAT in the rap game, and it’s easy to see why J. Cole signed him to Dreamville. One of the most captivating moments of the night came when JID jumped into the pit to perform among the fans. It was a defining highlight that still lingers with anyone close enough to feel that raw presence. As the night drew to a close, JID delivered a powerful finale with “For Keeps.” The performance captured every ounce of the crowd’s energy. Phones lit the room, arms reached for the sky, and fans, drenched in sweat, rapped their hearts out in pure appreciation. The night ended with the audience giving their flowers, roaring in gratitude, showering JID with cheers and love for an unforgettable show. As It’s one Vancouver won’t soon forget.
