July Talk in Ottawa Set The Bronson Centre Alive Midweek

July Talk in Ottawa at a packed Bronson Centre on a Wednesday night set the tone for a show rooted in energy and connection. From the first note, the room felt alive, with a crowd ready to give as much as they received. Julianna Riolino and July Talk, on the first of two shows in Ottawa, met that energy head-on, delivering a night that moved seamlessly between grit, vulnerability, and release.

Julianna Riolino

Opening the night was Julianna Riolino, stepping on stage with a full band that felt pulled from another era. With a sound drifting between country, rock, and soul, her set moved effortlessly from soft harmonies to powerful, explosive vocals.

Her band matched her at every turn, delivering tight musicianship that brought each track to life. There was a clear sense of purpose throughout the set, a commitment to keeping rock and roll alive, and it resonated in both sound and presence. Riolino’s performance felt grounded yet dynamic, setting the tone for the night ahead.

July Talk

When July Talk took the stage, the room was already full of energy. The six-piece band from Toronto launched into their set with intensity, starting with their hit Picturing Love, drawing immediate reactions from a crowd that roared after every song. Their chemistry was undeniable, each member feeding off the other in a performance that felt both raw and controlled.

Peter Dreimanis’ low, driving vocals paired seamlessly with Leah Fay’s sharp, commanding delivery, creating a contrast that carried through the entire set. Even while visibly pregnant, Fay moved across the stage with relentless energy, fully leaning into the moment and the music.

With a band locked in and an audience meeting them at every turn, July Talk transformed a midweek show into something that felt anything but ordinary, a night defined by connection, movement, and the kind of energy that lingers long after the final note.

A Night Carried By Connection

Together, Julianna Riolino and July Talk delivered a night that felt both grounded and electric, where every moment was shared between stage and crowd. From the opening notes to the final chorus, the energy never wavered, leaving the Bronson Centre buzzing and proving once again that even a Wednesday night can feel like something much bigger.
