Keshi in Toronto

American singer-songwriter Keshi brought his REQUIEM TOUR to Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on July 29, 2025. Initially scheduled for October 6, 2024, the show was postponed, but that did not discourage fans, and finally, the wait was over.

Japanese-American artist starfall kicked off the night with haze and dark-themed lighting, setting the stage for a dreamy, atmospheric vibe. A guitarist accompanied him throughout his brief set. Starfall successfully warmed up the arena for the following acts.

Mac Ayres

American R&B singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Mac Ayres kept the crowd in their feels. He excitedly waved to the audience as he made his way center-stage, instantly charming them. He brought emotion through his passionate delivery while playing clean chord progressions and incorporating backtracking. Mac’s authentic expressions were contagious and could be seen through the audience’s faces, especially those near the pit barricades. His relatability factored well into his performance, which easily garnered the crowd’s interest and undivided attention.

Keshi

In complete darkness, Keshi made his entrance, emerging from the dark, raising his red solo cup to everyone in attendance. As the lights brightened, his outfit stood out; he sported a black bomber jacket, flared pants that stacked neatly over his boots, and a studded belt and chains with leather gloves attached. The fit is an overall redefined aesthetic compared to his previous tour in Toronto in 2022 at the Danforth Music Hall.

As expected, his set featured a variety of his recent tracks and older favourites that reflected his artistic journey that got him to this moment. He was able to highlight his artistry and how his sound fused lo-fi with R&B, as well as his evolution truly reflecting his journey, with his intimate performance, emotional and unapologetically true to himself.

In the end, it was more than just a rescheduled performance. Keshi proved the wait was more than worth it, and his story is far from over, but simply another powerful chapter to add to his ongoing story, bringing his most devoted fans along the journey.
