Lord of the Lost in Montréal – A Night of Dark Romance and Heavy Atmosphere

Beanfield Theatre was filled from top to bottom for an unforgettable night of heavy music, theatrical performances, and passionate fans as Lord of the Lost in Montréal brought together three very distinct but perfectly matched acts. From classic horror-tinged metal to emotional synth-rock and romantic evil metal, the evening delivered energy, connection, and unforgettable moments.

Wednesday 13

Wednesday 13 took the stage as a solo project backed by a full band, showcasing the signature sound he’s known for as the vocalist of Murderdolls. His voice sat perfectly in that classic heavy metal space — not quite screaming, not quite clean singing — but powerful and unmistakable.

The front row was packed with devoted fans who sang every word loudly enough to be heard over the band, creating an intense connection between artist and audience. One of the standout moments came when Wednesday 13 threw candy into the crowd from a Halloween pumpkin bucket, adding a playful horror touch that fit his aesthetic perfectly.

The Birthday Massacre

The Birthday Massacre brought a warm and emotional contrast to the night. The woman-fronted rock band, formed in 1999 in London, Ontario, was met with huge love from the crowd. Vocalist Sara was extremely affectionate with the audience and spoke about how nice it felt to be back in Canada after spending a week touring in the USA.

Visually and musically, the band was captivating. The keytarist stood out in particular, climbing onto his keyboard stand and headbanging along to the music, making for a highly entertaining performance. The band also highlighted their 10th studio album, Pathways, released in April 2025.

Lord of the Lost

Headliners Lord of the Lost delivered a powerful and immersive performance that fully justified the sold-out atmosphere inside Beanfield Theatre. The German metal band featured an interesting and unique lineup, with a drummer on one side and a keyboardist surrounded by additional drums on the other.

The guitar work was tight, polished, and clearly well rehearsed. Their sound carried a romantic, almost “evil” metal vibe that matched their aesthetic perfectly and resonated deeply with the crowd.

With the venue filled top to bottom, the love from the audience was undeniable. The band’s latest release, Opvs Noir Vol 2, released in December 2025, fit seamlessly into the night’s dark and dramatic tone.
