Marianas Trench SELL OUT Mtelus in Montréal

On Wednesday night, Marianas Trench brought their highly anticipated The Force of Nature Tour to a sold-out MTelus in Montréal. The Vancouver-based band delivered a staggering performance, preceded by an electric opening set from rising pop-punk sensation LØLØ.

Making her Montréal debut, LØLØ left an indelible impression on the crowd. Performing to a packed house, she commanded the stage with infectious energy, bounding back and forth with “posi” kicks that added to the excitement. Her setlist included her original tracks and a spirited cover of Icona Pop’s hit “I Love It,” which had the audience singing along in unison. Montréal gave her an enthusiastic welcome, setting the stage for what promises to be a flourishing career. It’s safe to say she’ll be back to visit her newfound fans.

As the lights dimmed, a single figure appeared on stage, revving up a lawnmower amidst a playful setup of grass props. Suddenly, the unmistakable riff of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck filled the room, and the crowd’s energy surged. By the time the song ended, the audience was singing at the top of their lungs, ready for the headliners to take the stage.

Marianas Trench made a triumphant return to Montréal after a five-year hiatus, kicking off their set with Normal Life, the opening track from their latest album. The six-and-a-half-minute song was a fitting start to a night that showcased their dynamic sound and theatrical stage presence.

From smoke cannons to vibrant lights, the show was a feast for the senses. The band played a mix of beloved hits spanning their career, including fan favorites like Shaketramp and Good to You. The diverse audience—ranging from long-time fans who have followed the band since 2006 to a younger generation of admirers—sang along to every word.

Frontman Josh Ramsay displayed his extraordinary vocal range throughout the night, hitting soaring notes with ease. But Ramsay made sure to share the spotlight, as bassist Mike Ayley stepped up to the mic for a standout vocal moment of his own, further demonstrating the band’s versatility.

Marianas Trench delivered an unforgettable performance, leaving fans in Montréal buzzing with excitement. The energy, passion, and connection between the band and the audience were palpable. Here’s hoping it won’t be another five years before they return—because Montréal is already counting down the days until the next show.
