We Are Story Tellers
Nightly is one of those bands that have always made their way into my playlists over the years with their alternative-pop style and nostalgic feel. Their newest album, songs to drive to, is exactly what the title suggests: an ideal soundtrack for late-night drives with the windows down. It’s a perfect mix of tracks that let you reminisce, feel everything, or simply get lost in the moment. So when I heard about their tour, I knew I had to be there!
To be a Nightly fan is to be all in. Packed shoulder to shoulder in the Hi-Fi, each fan had merch, DIY-ed outfits and accessories, and friendship bracelets. I walked in not knowing anyone there, yet left with several new friends all based on the fact that we share the same love for the same band. The intimate feel of the venue primed the evening for an intimate show, where at times, it felt like I was the only person in that room! It’s rare that a band can make a room full of die-hard fans feel like they’re each having a personal moment with the music, but Nightly did just that, with a presence and purpose that clearly revolved around the fans.
One thing that has always captivated me with Nightly’s music is the lead singer, Jonathan Capeci’s, vocals. His voice has a uniqueness to it that is hard to replicate, making the live experience of the music just that more special. I enjoyed seeing the love of performing radiating off of Capeci and his two other bandmates, Joey Beretta and Nicholas Sainato. Their chemistry on stage easily translated to their chemistry with the fans.
I’m a huge sucker for those special fan moments during a show, and Nightly had my heart the entire night with the way they interacted with the crowd. They didn’t just perform, they connected. Whether it was playful banter between songs or spotlighting fans who had gone above and beyond, their appreciation felt genuine and personal, making the night feel even more unforgettable.
Overall, the night was filled with an uplifting energy that roped me in from the start. There is no place like a Nightly show and I know that this is a name to look out for in the future! There is still a month left of this tour, so if you’re in the area for their upcoming shows, GO! You won’t regret it! You can find the tour dates here!
