We Are Story Tellers

NJ Horror Con, A Scary Good Time

New Jersey Horror is one of the most highly anticipated conventions, pulling in an abundance of horror lovers, many even traveling cross country to enjoy the weekend’s festivities. New Jersey Horror Con originated in 2017 by the founder Ryan Scott Weber, creating the magic of NJ Horror Con. The weekend was filled with more things to count, from celebrity appearances, film panels, costume contests, award ceremonies, red carpets, meet and greets, movie screenings and much more!

NJ Horror Con Reunions

Day 1 started off with lines around the venue, and excited energy to start the weekend of halloween and horror madness. From entering NJ Expo Center, you are hit with a wave of exhilaration. From the photo op room to the massive rooms filled with celebrities at their tables eager to sign and take photos with fans, and a whole space to shop your halloween hearts out with loads of vendors! For the celebrity appearances, fans were lucky enough to get the opportunity to meet Hocus Pocus legends Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz, Vinessa Shaw, Jason Marsden and Thora Birch. Hocus Pocus wasn’t the only reunion happening this weekend, The Lost Boys, Chance Michael Corbitt, G Tom Mac, and Jamison Newlander gathered together to greet beloved fans. If you thought the reunions were done, you were wrong! Friday the 13th’s very own Kane Hodder, Steve Nappe, and VC Dupree reconnected as well as a Victor Crowley reunion starring Felissa Rose, Adam Green, and Kane Hodder.

Red Carpet Event

The list does not end with celebrity appearances, Grimm Life Collective, Gina Shock, Michael Hargrove, Shannyn Sossamon, Dr Chud, and another very special reunion from Chucky’s Alex Vincent and Christine Elise. After a jam packed Day 1 of New Jersey Horror Con, a party was held for all guest appearances and VIP holders. Red Carpets, interviews and even awards were given out to Kane Hodder and Grim Life Collective – for the first time in NJ Horror Con history this all exclusive and intimate afterparty event took place. Seeing the love of horror mesh between fans and iconic horror legends was something truly indescribable.

Costume Contest, Film Panels and More!

Saturday, the biggest day for NJ Horror Con was nothing short of thrilling. With 10 short films being displayed, a Hocus Pocus and Friday the 13th panel, and a costume contest everyone was in for a day full of chaos in the best way! Seeing the faces light up in the sea of people while meeting their idols captured the true meaning of NJ Horror Con, unity. NJ Horror Con as well as its guest celebrities truly made everyone feel as one while enjoying the love of all things horror. Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to the 3rd and final day but within two days alone it was prevalent how much work truly went into this event. Every guest celebrity I had the pleasure to chat with and photograph just put it into more perspective of how important it is to have conventions like this, bringing together horror fans for an immersive, unforgettable weekend. NJ Horror Con, is a MUST!
