Big Ideas and Big Moments: Remi Wolf's Stop in Indianapolis

Remi Wolf, the spunky and groovy pop artist, made sure Indianapolis knew her name after her sold-out show at the Old National Centre. With several pop hits like “Photo ID” and “Cinderella,” she’s no stranger to bold, funky sounds. But on Wednesday night, her vocals, colorful stage lights, and ever-commanding presence took that boldness to a whole new level. The show was part of the second leg of her “Big Ideas Tour”, a run that’s proven just how much of an exciting and emotive performer Wolf really is. Each stop has been packed with high energy, spontaneous moments, and welcomed chaos and Indy was no exception.

I didn’t realize how much Remi Wolf had already been part of my life until I saw her live. I’d heard her songs floating around on social media for a while, not even knowing they were hers, so when she started performing tracks I already knew and loved, it was such a fun surprise. Now? She’s completely taken over my playlists, and I honestly regret not diving into her music sooner.

Remi’s sound is this a perfect blend of groovy, soulful, and a little edgy, leaving me wanting to blast her music with the windows rolled down. But what really blew me away was her presence. She didn’t just move across that stage, she owned it more than any artist I’ve ever seen. She danced with her bandmates, ran from one side of the stage to the other, jumped, spun, belted her heart out, and she performed like she owned the entire city. Outside of her performance, one of my favorite touches to this tour was before the show. She made a stop at local spot, Gather 22, personalizing it with her very own menu item, which is something she’s been doing at every city on tour. It’s such a thoughtful way to connect with each stop and uplift small businesses along the way.

With a mix of old favorites and new tracks from her most recent album, Big Ideas, there was something for everyone, from longtime fans to newcomers like me. My own highlights included the fun ad libs she performed in each song, her playful vocal warmups, and banter with the crowd. Remi wasn’t just performing to us, she was performing with us! Her stage presence is part pop star, part comedian, and all-around entertainer. The lightheartedness and sense of belonging in that venue were so strong that evening and it truly felt like a big, joyful hangout session with friends.

In short, Remi Wolf didn’t just put on a concert. She gave us a full-body, full-soul, full-volume experience. If you ever get the chance to see her live, please do not wait as long as I did.  With so many more stops along the way, it’s super easy to catch her on the Big Ideas Tour, which you can find tickets and more information here
