Dr. Satinder Sartaaj, adorned with countless Punjabi music honors and a prestigious Ph.D. in Sufi Singing and Poetry, returned to Vancouver for the first time since 2023, where he performed at Pacific Coliseum. The evening arrived like a prayer, soft and sacred. Sartaaj’s band took the stage first, their quiet presence was a prelude. The night was an odyssey through old favourites and fresh tracks, all of which met with waves of applause that rose and fell, like ocean tides.

For me, this new experience wasn’t just a concert, it was an immersion into culture. A gathering that felt less like a performance and more like a celebration of togetherness. It was a night that united families, generations, and strangers under the same songs and stories. Even with a barrier of language, the connection was undeniable. I could feel the deep, unspoken admiration Satinder Sartaaj held for his fans, carried not just in his words, but in every gesture, glance, and note. As the night drew to a close, Sartaaj stood beneath the glow of Rogers Arena, basking in the waves of love and applause.
