We Are Story Tellers

Set It Off in San Diego

When Set It Off’s tour was announced, I immediately knew that one way or another, I would make it to a show. Set It Off took over the main room at the House of Blues this past Sunday and made it a night to remember!

Weathers

Weathers’ performance as the opening act for Set It Off in San Diego was the best way to get amped up for Set It Off. Their set felt like a whirlwind, with an infectious energy that immediately resonated with the crowd. Frontman, Cameron Boyer has such a unique aura to him and his stage presence is truly unmatched. This was my third time getting to see Weathers live and photograph them. They never fail to bring the energy and deliver an unforgettable performance. The band’s sound is what I would call alt-rock mixed with pop influences. They performed some of their hits, like “I’m Not Ok,” which had the audience in full participation, singing their hearts out. The band’s chemistry and stage presence transformed the venue into a vibrant, collective experience with fans going wild.

Set It Off

Set It Off’s performance in San Diego was absolutely incredible. From the moment they took the stage, the band commanded attention with their larger-than-life presence and energy. Cody Carson, the lead singer of Set It Off, has a presence the truly makes the set magical. His connection with the fans is something that every band needs, he makes sure to check in on them and read signs. One sign specifically mentioned it being their first concert and another mentioned it being their birthday, which he made sure to stop and shout them both out, which I thought was really kind because not every artist does that. Every song felt like an anthem, with powerful vocals and intricate instrumentation that filled the venue. Songs like “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” had the crowd screaming at the top of their lungs, while their more emotional moments gave everyone a chance to reflect. Cody made the time to stop and tell the audience that no matter what they are going through, they will make it to the other side and that everything will get better. The band’s connection with the audience was undeniable, making the entire show feel like an intimate shared experience. Set It Off truly delivered a performance that was as intense as it was unforgettable.

This was my first time seeing Set It Off live but it definitely will not be my last time. I have always loved their music but watching them perform and the way they care and attend to their fans made me have a newfound respect for them. You could really tell that they will never forget where they came from and will make sure to deliver the performance of a lifetime to ensure their fans have a great time that was worth coming out to! San Diego cannot wait to have them back!
