The Misery Made Me tour from Silverstein Live In Ottawa! It’s been 6 years since the mighty Silverstein has been here, so it’s great to have them start their tour in Ottawa. With online tickets being sold out for weeks now and only limited tickets at the doors, the hype surrounding this show is at a high!
One Step Closer
If you haven’t heard of these guys, they are a melodic hardcore band from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. They opened the night up with high energy! They are a very exciting hardcore band on the scene, and they bring that excitement to their set!
One Step Closer set the night off right and got the crowd hyped up!
SeeYouSpaceCowboy
SYSC is a hardcore punk band from San Diego, California. SeeYouSpaceCowboy has been making waves in the scene over the last little while! They had a headline tour that came to Ottawa last summer. With a bigger stage and such a fast, heavy-hitting sound, SYSC hits you right in the stomach in the best way possible.
DaySeeker
Dayseeker is a post-hardcore band from Orange County, California. Dayseeker was an absolute joy to watch. I’d never seen or heard them before and wow was I ever captivated from start to finish? Lead vocalist Rory Rodriguez has a very beautiful and powerful voice. You just can’t help but feel the music with such emotion behind the mic. Dayseeker was the last of the opening acts and did they ever set the tone for Silverstein to hit the stage!
Silverstein
With a sold out jam packed Bronson Centre everyone is eagerly waiting for the band to hit the stage. Crowd lights go down and the stage lights go up as the band hits the stage opening the night with Ultraviolet, a song off their latest album Misery Made Me. After a song lead vocalist Shane Told tells the crowd that it’s been 6 years since they’ve last been here and to make it up they will be playing songs from each era of the bands 20 years.
The highlight of the show for me was when they played a big fan favourite My Heroine. The band stopped playing and Shane stopped singing only to have the entire building erupt and take over to sing the song. That was possibly the loudest I’ve ever heard a crowd sing before. That just goes to show the love and support their fans have for them. These guys are masters at what they do, so it’s no surprise they have been going strong for this long. Their tour continues on until the end of May. I highly suggest you find a date and go see them!
