We Are Story Tellers

Wallowing in Indie Bliss: Wallows Live in Concert

Wallows is no stranger to roaring crowds of fans, singing along to every lyric, captivated by the band’s infectious energy and indie-rock charm. I’ve always had at least one Wallows song in my rotating playlists, but seeing their pure style, energy, and devoted fanbase in person only deepened my appreciation for them. I left feeling like I was part of something bigger, and I can’t wait to chase that feeling again!

Opener: Deb Never

The night began with the opener, Deb Never, who carried a funky, alternative vibe in both her music and voice. This was personally my first time hearing her music, and I left with a few of her songs added to my playlist! I loved seeing her stage presence and witnessing her effortless ability to connect with the audience. There was a cool, laid-back confidence in her performance, paired with an undeniable energy that pulled everyone in. The crowd seemed equally captivated, and I could tell I wasn’t the only one walking away as a new fan! fter Deb Never’s set, the energy in the venue shifted as the curtain went up and the room buzzed with anticipation for Wallows’ arrival.

Model and More Tour

Dylan Minnette (guitar/vocals), Braeden Lemasters (guitar/vocals), and Cole Preston (drums/vocals) make up Wallows, an indie band that has quickly established—and maintained—a strong reputation in the indie scene. From hit songs like ‘Pleaser’ and ‘Are You Bored Yet?’ to fan favorites like ‘Uncomfortable’ and ‘Especially You,’ they explore a range of indie sounds while staying true to their own distinctive style. In anticipation of their upcoming EP More, the band has embarked on their North American tour, Model and More. Fans, myself included, are eagerly awaiting the EP’s release on March 28, 2025.

Wallow’s set began with a curtain drawn in front of the stage, backlit to reveal the silhouettes of the band members as they kicked things off with “Do Not Wait”’ This opening set the tone for a setlist that blended both old favorites and new tracks seamlessly. Despite the size of the venue, their energy and presence made the space feel intimate. It was hard not to get emotional as Dylan paused, gazing over the crowd, seemingly taking in the faces staring back at him.

You Don't Want to Miss Out!

There have been many times when I’ve gone to a show without knowing the entire discography, only to leave with a newfound love and appreciation for a song because of the experience I had hearing it live. At this show, that song was “Going Under”. The most memorable moment of “Going Under” came when Braeden made his way up to the balconies, bridging the gap between the audience further from the stage and the performance itself. His voice carried effortlessly throughout the venue, making it impossible not to be mesmerized by his emotion in every note. It was also evident that the members of the band are not just bandmates, but also best friends! The constant interactions with the crowd and with each other on stage is what set this show apart from others I have attended. There were times during songs that Dylan would have fans scream into the microphones or when he would climb to the barricade just for fun.

Experiencing this band live is a must! Even if you’re not familiar with their music, I left the show wanting to dive deeper into their discography and become more involved with their fanbase. With several tour dates still ahead, there’s plenty of opportunity to catch them live and see for yourself why this band is so special. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of the magic and check out there tour dates here
