Biffy Clyro in Montréal Delivers High-Energy Rock Performance Following Canadiens Game 7 Win
Fans attending Biffy Clyro in Montréal were treated to an unforgettable night of loud guitars, chaotic energy, and a crowd already in celebration mode after the Montréal Canadiens secured a Game 7 victory just before the band hit the stage.
Raue
Opening the evening was Raue, a young punk rock and grunge-inspired two-piece from California. Despite being in their early 20s, the band performed with confidence and intensity well beyond their years.
Their live set carried nonstop energy from start to finish, quickly winning over early arrivals inside the venue. Raue recently released a four-song EP in 2025, and their growing stage presence suggests they are a band to keep an eye on in the alternative rock scene.
Biffy Clyro
When Biffy Clyro finally took the stage, the atmosphere immediately shifted into full arena-rock chaos. Formed in Scotland during the 1990s, the band showed exactly why they have remained a respected force in rock music for decades. The group appeared incredibly polished and well rehearsed throughout the night, moving seamlessly through a massive 21-song setlist.
Frontman Simon Neil wasted no time bringing his trademark eccentric energy to Montréal. Entering the stage shirtless, Neil spent the night leaping across the stage, climbing amps, and throwing himself fully into every performance. His unpredictable movements and high-intensity delivery kept the crowd engaged from beginning to end.
Touring guitarist Michael Vennart also became a standout part of the show, constantly moving around the stage with dramatic kicks, spins, and animated performance antics that matched the explosive tone of the music.
The excitement inside the venue had already reached another level thanks to the Canadiens’ playoff win moments earlier, with fans repeatedly breaking into the iconic “olé, olé, olé” chant throughout the night. That added energy created a unique Montréal atmosphere that blended hockey celebration with massive live rock performance.
Closing
The concert also highlighted material connected to Biffy Clyro’s 2025 album Futique, released in September 2025, proving the band can still command a stage with the same intensity that once saw them headline major festivals alongside acts like KISS and System of a Down at Download Festival.
