Some disturbing news for this dates entry. Back in 1991, Rick James was arrested for the kidnapping, rape and torture of a 24 year old female.
This was apparently all because of a week-long heroin binge.

It was thought that many of these compositions had been either lost or destroyed in World War II.

This Week in Music – August 6th
On this date in 2004, musician Rick James was found dead by his caretaker.
His system was found to have many different legal prescription drugs in it, as well as some illegal drugs, however none were determined to have been the reason for his heart attack.
Can you believe that Geri Halliwell of the Spice Girls is turning 47 today?
It’s hard to imagine and only confirms that I am now old as shit.
