A big Happy Birthday goes out to Johnny Depp who turns 56 today. Why is Johnny Depp being brought up you ask?
He isn’t a musician you say? Johnny has always been an avid music fan and in 2015, formed a super group with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry called Hollywood Vampires, to honor those who died in the 1970’s due to excess drugs and drinking.
Janis Joplin had her stage debut at the Avalon ballroom in San Fran on this date in 1966.
As we all know, the world didn’t get to know her for too much longer as she tragically died of a drug overdose 4 short years later at the age of 27.
Somewhere over the rainbow, the great Judy Garland is celebrating what would be her 97th birthday.
Sadly, we lost her at the age of 47 due to a drug overdose.

On this date in 2002, the world was introduced to American Idol. This was the beginning of an era for music and its fans.
Do you remember the original judges? Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell of course! This original run lasted an amazing 15 seasons. Who won the inaugural first season? Kelly Clarkson of course!
