Bluesfest 2019 – Day 9

This has to be one of the worst years of Bluesfest for storms and canceled acts. Unfortunately, Bluesfest 2019 Day 9 was not exempt from this nightmare. It would have been nice for the 25th year to go off without a hitch but that can’t be the case it seems.

Storms rolled in and forced the starting acts to either be canceled or pushed back.

Today was an interesting day as the Hidden Beats team was pulling double duty with both Bluesfest and also an absolutely lovely wedding we were honored to be a part of at Calabogie Peaks Resort. While Ryan and I made sure the wedding photography went off without a hitch I was able to send Morgan to cover the last half of the festival.

Wu-Tang Clan

Wu-Tang Clan

Up first was the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.

Any hip-hop fan should know who this collective of amazing artists.

This were pushed back a little bit, but the show must go on.

Wu-Tang hit the stage and did exactly what you would expect them to do and that’s kill it!

The crowd absolutely ate it up!

They rocked out to some of their best tracks and even if not all the members are around (RIP ODB) they still bring that signature flow we all know and love.

I am a little sad I didn’t get to see these guys personally, but I sure am glad we were able to cover this act.

Jealous of Morgan for sure.

Pussy Riot

Pussy Riot

Pussy Riot is up next.

It worked out perfectly with things being pushed back the way they were.

This Russian collective it known for its interesting performances and they didn’t let the fans down for this one!

They rocked out on the Bluesville stage which helped perfectly with the amazing lights that are already there.

Even though we almost lost the whole day due to storms the fans still made sure to come out and catch them live and in person.

This is another one I would have liked to have seen since I have never caught these guys live but I will have to wait until next time.

Looking forward to it for sure!

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg - Bluesfest 2019 Day 9

Last but not least is the Dogg Father himself Snoop Dogg.

I was lucky enough to be up front for the Diamond Mine Agency show in Toronto a little while back, so I was excited for what Morgan was in for.

Last minute Warren G was added to the set to make for an all-star team up of hip-hop legends.

Snoop grooved out and played all of his signature tracks. He is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Doggystyle album which means he had to play those amazing tracks.

I sure do love some old school hip-hop

This was a perfect way to close out a generally crappy Bluesfest 2019 Day 9. With one more day on the schedule for the festival we have one final closer on deck.

The Backstreet Boys have one final chance to blow the roof of this joint and hopefully we have good weather. I really hope we do because I certainly would love to see these guys live.

Yes, I Said it, I want to see the Backstreet Boys live.
