Nelly

What can I say? The Diamond Mine Agency continued its reputation of acquiring some top notch acts and talent. The latest being Billboard’s third top Artist of the Decade (2000’s), Nelly.

Nelly exploded onto the scene in the early 2000’s with his 3x platinum debut album Country Grammar. You must have been living under a rock if you hadn’t heard one of his many hit songs playing multiple times a day on your local radio station.

Those same hits were in abundance last night. For even those who may not have been old enough back when Nelly was at the height of his relevance, they for sure would have a moment of “Oh Yaaaaa! I remember this song!”

No alcohol is permitted inside the performance area, but it didn’t seem to put a damper on the partying. The crowd was electric for the entire set which lasted just over 1 hour.

The set list could be considered the greatest hits playlist. In-fact all the songs we love and came to see got played in that short time period. Songs like, Hot in Heere, Batter Up, E.I, Country Grammar and Dilemma, (which featured Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child), played to the crowd’s delight. It seemed as though everyone in the room knew every word to the songs.

There were a few breaks during the show in which Nelly interacted with the crowd. This goes to show that he wasn’t forgot about the fans that helped make him the big star he was 20 years ago and continues to be today.

At the end of the show Nelly did a small meet and greet. Some of his more diehard fans took the time to chat with him and snap some pictures and sign autographs.

Even though he might not be in the spot light like he once was, this show was nothing short of amazing. It brought back all those memories of songs we all listened to more than a few times growing up. I still have some of these on my currently throwback play lists right now!
